March 2016 Student of the Month: Nominations

Congratulations to the Libraries’ Student Employee of the Month, Ashley Flinn!  Ashley is a Graduate Research Assistant in Academic Services.  Here are some of the nominations received for Ashley:

“Ashley is a creative and thoughtful member of the Instructional Design Team in Academic Services. She consistently produces high quality graphics and instructional content for the New Literacies Alliance project, as well as technical reviews and editing for the LibGuides system. This month, Ashley has gone above and beyond her normal duties by identifying and solving two technical problems which have been causing grief for the team, and for NLA project partners. The most important of which came after Ashley looked over some code we used to embed a Qualtrics poll into a SoftChalk lesson. She figured out how to remove an unsightly element of the poll report (something neither I nor the IT person we worked with were able to fix). I am thrilled at the increased usability of the polling feature and Ashley’s drive to find a solution.”

“I work with Ashley on the New Literacies Alliance (NLA) project and on the LibGuides Team. For the NLA project, I was doing assessment and needed data from our SoftChalk program but the program did not put the date together in a way that worked for me. Ashley worked on it and downloaded all the data and then sorted and analyzed the hundreds of data records into a spreadsheet that not only was what I needed, it went well above and beyond in analysis.”
